This Privacy Policy describes how KinCare(“KinCare”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit kin-care.com or use the app at app.kin-care.com. This is a plain-language summary of what we do and why. If you have questions, email hello@kin-care.com.
What we collect
- Account info: your name and email address when you sign up.
- Care data: medications, appointments, tasks, journal entries, and key info you add to your circle.
- Usage data: basic analytics about which pages are viewed, in aggregate, to improve the product.
- Device & cookies: cookies required to keep you logged in and to remember your preferences.
How we use it
- To provide the service — syncing your circle across devices and family members.
- To send notifications you have opted into (appointment reminders, etc.).
- To send occasional product updates (you can unsubscribe any time).
- To debug issues and improve reliability.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share your care data with advertisers.
- We do not use your private journal entries to train AI models.
Who can see your data
Inside a care circle, data is shared with the members you invite, subject to their role (Admin, Member, Observer). We do not disclose your data to third parties except service providers we need to run the product (hosting, email delivery, payments), and only to the minimum extent required.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. We follow industry best practices, use Supabase for database and auth, and review access controls regularly. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage using a strong, unique password.
Your rights
You can access, export, or delete your data at any time by emailing hello@kin-care.com or from the account settings inside the app. Depending on where you live (e.g. EU, California), you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA, including data portability and the right to object to certain processing. We honor those requests.
Children
KinCare is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after changes means you accept the new version.
